This is what I did Saturday. It rained all day which is perfect for knitting or tearing up the house- depending on your prerogative (the boys opted for the latter and it's still not recovered). I'm working on the Geneva Camisole from Rowan Magazine #42...and that's exactly how it will look when I am finished too. Yeah, we'll see. I'd like to have it knit in time for the Ball at the end of January, and (if all goes well) to sew a silk ball skirt to go with it. Overambitious? Maybe.
So yesterday Auden wanted to go for a run- by himself. He said he wanted to run down the alley, and I thought that would be okay as long as Matti and I hung out in the yard and watched him. Then he asked which way he turned once he got to the end. It was the sweetest thing ever that he wanted to be like his mom and go for a run all by himself (Although we differ in what we deem appropriate running footwear- he insisted on wearing his boots). I took him to the track so he could do his thing safely without too much interference from me. It was noon by the time we got there, and hot. He's never been to a track before and it was so much fun watching him take it all in and make his first lap. Matti got in on the action too before we left, but decided that he didn't want to do it again. I'm thinking that this may be a new activity for us. It wore them out and even Matti didn't give me too much trouble when it came time to put him down for a nap when we got back.
In other news, it turns out that we will be moving soon. We just rent, and the owner has decided to sell the house. It really hit me hard Monday and more or less immobilized me that entire morning. The immensity of having to move an entire household while Chris is gone, leaving all my friends behind (somehow all but one of my friends here are neighbors), and giving up my favorite running routes on top of all the other difficulties of life seemed too much. Yesterday was better, but I'm still not looking forward to a move (even with a leaky basement).
Today, I'll probably clean a little, knit a little- I've already run a little! Love, Sara
